I am a thirtysomething wife and work at home mom of an enthusiastic, wonderful two year old son and a beautiful baby boy. You could also say I'm a bit of a "creative junkie." My biggest creative outlet is that of photographer. However, I am also a blog nut. After months of searching the web, trying to find cute and unique blog backgrounds (and ones that wouldn't erase any of my sidebar elements), I finally figured out how to create them myself. I wanted to "share the love." So, during the Christmas season, I decided to make this little website so that my friends and family could also use the backgrounds that I had made. It's sort of just spread from there. I love doing it! (It's always nice to have another creative outlet and way to give service.) It's totally free - no strings attached. Seriously! If you do decide to use any of them, I'd love for you to comment about what you think! (Commenting helps me know what the general public prefers and which directions to take my future creations.) Angel Mother

I know, I know - these are coming a weeee bit late. Mother's Day is just a couple of days away. I apologize profusely. But we've been out of town, so I wasn't able to make any new backgrounds. However, last night I saw that Summer at Summertime Designs had created these great papers and kits celebrating M-O-M, called "Angel Mother." I rushed to get some done in time for the big day :) Enjoy - and Happy Mother's Day to all!

How to change your background

To use one of my backgrounds for the first time, follow these steps:

1. The first time you use one of my backgrounds, you should set your blog background to 'minima.' To do this, log in to to your blog and click on 'customize' in the top right corner

2. Now that you're in the 'customize' screen, click on the 'Pick New Template' tab in the upper left part of the screen. Click on 'Minima.' (The first one there, not minima ochre, or blue, just plain white minima.) Then save that template choice. (You won't have to do this every time you use one of my backgrounds. Just the first time.)

3. Okay. Now click back onto the 'page elements' tab.

4. Click on 'add a gadget' (in the right column)

5. Then find the 'html/java script' option and click on that.

6. Copy and paste this code into the content:

background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed; }
</style>

7. Now, find your favorite background from my site, and copy and paste the link below it between the parenthesis where it says (direct link) (make sure and leave the parentheses there. Just copy and paste the "direct link" text)

8. Click "save" and you're done!

If you're already using one of my backgrounds, it's even easier to change your background. Just 'edit' the html/java script gadget that you have one of my background codes pasted into and then change the direct link in the parentheses only. You don't have to start all over from scratch!

How to change your background (the OLD way)

1. Log in to to your blog and click on 'customize' in the top right corner

3. After you've saved your blog to 'minima,' click on the 'Edit HTML' tab right next to the one you're currently in.

4. In the crazy (html) code, scroll to where you see this:

body {background:$bgcolor;margin:0; color:$textcolor; font:x-small Georgia Serif; font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small; text-align: center;}

5. Change that part of the code to say this (to change it, just highlight it and then paste this next part in):

body {background:$bgcolor;background-image:url(direct link);background-position: center; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed;margin:0; color:$textcolor; font:x-small Georgia Serif; font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small; text-align: center;}

6. Now, find your favorite background, and copy and paste the link below it between the parenthesis where it says '(direct link)'

It's even easier to change your background if you already have one of mine up. In that case, simply look for this html:

body {background:$bgcolor;background-image:url(your http://tinypic picture link address will be here between these parentheses!);background-position:

Simply change the direct link in the parentheses only. You don't have to start all over from scratch!

Hopefully these instructions are simple enough for you! Sometimes it's hard when trying to find the html, but if I can do it, you can too. Promise! I'm proof that you really can teach an old dog new tricks! :) If you have any questions, please contact me!
